Tiffany Mosaic: Garden Landscape and Fountain

I have a tendency to always be shooting things from the side.  Not people – I will sometimes shoot them head-on – but things and places almost always get this treatment.  I believe this tendency usually serves me well, but not always.

I took this during a morning visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art about 2 months ago, during which I shot almost everything from the side, or at least off-center.  I discovered that shooting from the side is great for sculptures and other 3-dimensional objects, but not so great for 2 dimensional items, such as paintings, murals, tapestries, etc.  I may yet salvage a few more of my shots of such objects from that trip, but others might never see publication.  This mosaic has the advantage of having some depth.

The mosaic itself dates from the very early 20th century, and sat in the Tiffany showroom until that showroom was demolished in the early 1930s.
