I have formatted a few of my images for iPad wallpapers. Each one features an HDR image from New York City formatted for the iPad.  I will occasionally update this page with a new rotation, and you can make a request for any image on the site and I will accommodate you if possible.

Instructions

You can click on any image to see full size preview.  Then, if you want to save a copy for use on your iPad, click on the link at the bottom of the thumbnails to go to the entire album at my Phanfare site.  There, in  box on the right side of the screen,  you will have the option to download individual images, or you can download the entire album as a zip file.  There is also a link to buy prints, but downloads are free.   Do not choose the “Save Image As” option either on this page or  even in the large size preview, as that will just download the wrong size, which won’t look so awesome on your iPad.  Go to the Phanfare Album and click either “Download Image” or “Download Album.” Once you have the image (or images) saved locally, add them to the photo folder or program you currently use to sync photographs into your iPad using iTunes.  On the iPad itself, you can set the backgrounds for both the Home Screen and the Lock Screen from the Settings App under ‘Brightness & Wallpaper’.

I have formatted these to a square shape – so that the entire screen should be filled whether you hold your iPad in vertical or horizontal mode – but in either orientation you will lose some of the image on either the top/bottom or the sides, depending on which way you hold your iPad.  It is also possible to make iPad wallpapers that fit perfectly in either horizontal or vertical mode, but that also look worse when the user turns to the “wrong” orientation.  I myself do NOT have an iPad, so if there is any problem with these images, please let me know using the contact form above or a comment below.  If you would rather have one of these in a vertical or horizontal format, let me know that also.

Finally, I have chosen not to watermark these images, so please make some note of this site and keep it on your iPad, so that if anyone asks where your wallpaper came from, you can tell them.  That’s the only compensation I’m looking for.  Thanks, and enjoy.
