Empire State Building and Party Boat Light Ribbon

Party Boat, Empire State, Night

Last night I had the pleasure of finally meeting one of my internet photo buddies Jim Nix. We almost met on a group trip 2 years ago that I missed out on due to last minute travel disruption, so it was fortunate that his business travel took him to NY this week and we were able to finally meet.

He wanted to shoot the sunset from Brooklyn Bridge Park, so that was where we headed. After sunset we lingered a bit for some night time shots, and while I was shooting the Empire State Building from underneath the Brooklyn Bridge, a party boat started crossing by. This 2.3 seond exposure seemed just right to capture the lights on the boat as they crossed in front of my subject.
