Once upon a way back, this building served as Police Headquarters for New York City.  It was replaced in that role a few decades ago and eventually was sold and converted into residential condominiums that now sell for millions, and sometimes many millions of dollars. I’ve always been intrigued by the building, and wish it were possible to get inside and walk around. Some of the photos at the link give an idea of what parts of the apartments look like, but I’d really love to see for myself. Because it sits on a narrow street, it is hard to get a picture that shows the beauty of the entire building. This photo of mine is the closest I have gotten.
