This is one of the highlights of a visit to Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn — a pyramid-shaped mausoleum that fully embraces and mixes explicit Christian and Egyptian/pagan symbolism. You have Jesus holding a lamb, Mary holding Jesus, a pyramid, and a sphinx. In addition, although you cannot see it here, the door displays a sun circled by symbols of the zodiac, with a cross.
Egyptologist Albert Ross Parsons published New Light from the Great Pyramid in 1893 and died in 1933. He was also a noted composer and musician in his time. He is buried here with other members of his family.
This is a medium format film image, using (I think) Tri-X film in a Fuji GF670 folding rangefinder.
