Monday night I left my office building in midtown Manhattan, and walked along a bit of pavement I have walked countless times, yet suddenly saw a scene that needed to be captured, leading to a photo that had generated a rather strong response, measured against my other images.
While I don’t expect to recapture that magic at will, the experience did lead me to see my surroundings with fresher eyes, and today’s photo is the first result of that small epiphany. The building on the far right is where I work. The next three (two complete building corners in the middle and a slice of the last building on the left) are its neighbors running down Sixth Avenue, or the Avenue of the Americas, for the next 3 blocks. I think I might want to revisit this perspective at a variety of different times of day, with different framing and an assortment of processing options.

17 Feb 2013I just love that, Mark. I’m a great fan of geometric design and contrast and nowadays with all the new build going on one sees it everywhere (although I’m sure these particular buildings are not new).
