Federal Reserve Bank of New York Front Door

Now that is a solid, imposing door, fronting the Federal Reserve Bank of New York which is a fortress-like structure taking up an entire three-sided block bounded by Nassau Street, Liberty Street and Maiden Lane in downtown Manhattan.  In a very loose sense, the Federal reserve, of which this is one of 12 regional branches, is the heir to the First and Second Banks of the United States.

According to the third Die Hard movie,* there is a lot of gold inside. I don’t know if that’s true and, unusual for me, do not care enough to check.

* I think it was called Live Free or Die Hard With  A Vengeance On A Good Day.

  2. That is one imposing door! Looks like a heavy duty one at that! Love that stone around it, too! If it was in Die Hard, it had to be right! Ha!
