Blooms and a Butterfly

I am both amazed and repelled by truly close macro photographs of insects. I marvel at the work and skill that goes into making them even as I would probably be happy if I never saw another one again. This is about as close as I want to get even to a pretty insect, whether in real life, behind a lens, or on printed page or computer screen.

  1. After reading your post here it’s easy to see why we don’t see more of this genre from you, but I have to admit I now wonder why. This is a GREAT photograph, Mark! Great colors, soft shadows and the perfectly posed butterfly all come together wonderfully here!
