Running Out of Titles

In the early days of the blog I used to try to come up with artistic or poetic titles for every shot. I found it hard and tedious. When I discovered that using simple descriptive titles like “First Bank of the United States” and “Central Park Reservoir Infrared” helps generate search engine traffic, I pretty much stopped worrying about expressive titles, except for pictures like this that do not really show anything that a searcher is likely to look for. “Urbex Rubble and Window?” Whatever you call it — here it is — and I hope you like it.

  1. Fantastic shadow detail, Mark. I started off just like you worrying over fancy titles. I soon realized they were quite unnecessary unless there was a need to identify the content in a specific way. I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggled with this originally!

  2. Now that made me laugh since I was struggling beyond belief with a title for my post this morning. Now this image is another story. I love this. The detail is fantastic and you’ve managed to create warmth out of a pile of rubble. Excellent.

  3. I know what to call this. Awesome awesomeness! Look, spell check didn’t even mind it. No charge, Mark, my pleasure.

LOVE this shot, my friend! What incredible details and textures at play here. I found myself soaking this in for a bit trying to pull all the wonder out and enjoy it. Well done, fine sir!
