Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden.

I worked on this image in the evening, stacking layers upon layer, effect upon effect. When I was done I was pleased, but worried it was really a muddled mess. I decided to sleep on it and look at it with fresh eyes in the morning, and my concern was well placed. I started from scratch: played a bit with contrast and brightness, and cooled off some of the warm light coming through the windows, and this is the result.

22 May 2012Man, the light from the windows makes this shot for me. The clear window definitions on the floor add a nice bit of interest as your eyes work to the vanishing point.
