Grand Central Terminal – Main Hall

With the Coney Island Series wrapped up, it’s time to return to Grand Central Terminal, for another week of shots taken early on a Sunday morning using Ilford HP5 Plus black and white film pushed to 1600 ISO. It’s roughly impossible to get a shot of this room empty, and this is nearly as close as one can get. The only one more empty I ever saw were some taken last September when Hurricane Irene was about to hit New York City. The hurricane was a big non-event here, fortunately, but we did not know that and there was a partial evacuation of parts of the city and mass transit shut down.

Meanwhile, if the simple black and white film shot is too simple for your taste, head on over to Jim Denham’s site and check out a wild HDR collaboration post.
