Along the Hudson

This is the Palisades, the Hudson River, Henry Hudson Parkway, and George Washington Bridge, taken from Fort Tryon Park, with a sort of high key washed out look  on the horizon in the distance.  The highway below was remarkably free of traffic on  New Year’s Day morning. It was nearly 9am, but I guess everybody was still sleeping in.

For nearly the first 30 years of my life I lived in 3 locations, each less than a mile from the Hudson, and could always get something approximating this view with a walk of 5 to 20 minutes, although not always from such high ground.

  4. Great scene here, Mark. I like the way you processed this and the empty highway leads the eye directly to the bridge. Nice!

  5. The lazy curves of the deserted highway work really well with the dreamy high-key background. Suggesting a lazy morning – that I guess is what everyone else was doing! Great photo op – well handled.
