You might recognize this Post office if you were a fan of Seinfeld. Cooper Station on Fourth Avenue is the Post Office whose exterior was used in the episode in which Newman charges Jerry with a mail insurance scam and brings him in for questioning.
The iomage demonstrates a common white balance issue: if you properly balance an image outdoor light, then light inside a building lit by tungsten or fluorescents will be improperly balanced. As you can see here, the space inside this Post Office appears to be lit with yellow lights. You can actually mix different images and balance each separataly but I liked the eerie look that this gives, making one wonder what’s going on inside that building?

25 Nov 2011Oh ya…I thought it looked familiar. Love the glow of the interior lights.

25 Nov 2011I like the light, and the interesting contrasts in the windows on the upper level and also with the orange pool of light further down the street.
