New York by Gehry Study No. 1

One of the neat things about Gehry buildings is that they lend themselves to extreme manipulation using the most fundamental photography tools: filters, black and white, color manipulation, highlights and shadows. This was taken with the Singh-Ray Gold’N’Blue polarizer, set to blue, then a bunch of basic color and tone manipulations, all in Aperture with no plugins. This is again the newly iconic tower “New York by Gehry,” briefly known as Beekman Tower.

  1. Nice shot Mark. I like the way you’ve processed it.

  2. This shot is better’n chocolate. And, man, I LOVE chocolate. Great great lines here, Mark, and the tones you brought out in your processing there are just wonderful.
