Daytrippers

It’s not often that people sit in a car with the dome light on, so I grabbed this opportunity to get a shot of this family waiting for someone or something both inside and out of their Mini.  Because of the proximity, the way they were facing, and with the father looking every which way, I had to use all my street photo stealth techniques to get a few shots in the hope that one would be good.  Unfortunately, I’m not sure the subject is all that exciting. Just because a photograph opportunity is somewhat unusual doesn’t make it interesting. I’m basically presenting this as a curiosity, and I do like those lights in the background all bokeh’d up.

Yes, I just turned bokeh into a verb.

  1. If the shoe – err, hat — fits, then why not a humorous innocent poke and word play. If people get their panties all in a twist over it, let ’em. We’re enough overrun with PC narcissists with no sense of humor who take offense at every little word. If you care too much about what others think, you lose your freedom of speech.

  2. I love when folks turn the mundane into something interesting. Great image!
