This is effectively the end of Broadway. It splits here to traverse both sides of Bowling Green for one more block and then terminates. Looked at another way, this might more accurately be considered the start of Broadway. Although the street has only one-way traffic southbound below Columbus Circle, making this its end-point if you travel it by car, in truth, given New York City history, it is likely that the street began down here and worked its way north over time. Today, Broadway runs north beyond Manhattan into the Bronx, then Yonkers and lower Westchester up to Tarrytown, where its name changes to the Albany Post Road and continues all the way to that City in upstate New York.

Love the photo, made me think of the movie “I Am Legend” where Will Smith plays the main character and is left alone in the big city where a plague spread.
The photo did not remind me of the plague, hehe, but the part where someone is left alone in the big city 😉
