Cool Rocks With City Background

Yesterday morning I went down to Brooklyn Bridge Park with my friend Jon, who needs to get back to taking more pictures regularly.  The city recently opened a large new section of the park between Piers 1 and 6.  Because this area has only been open about a month and a half, we had a chance […]

Diana F+ – A First Look

Last week I bought a Diana F+ camera from the Lomography store.  It’s a cheaply made (but not inexpensively priced) plastic camera that shoots 120 Medium Format Film.  I immediately shot 2 rolls as a test, and this is from that set. So here are my initial thoughts.  The camera is surprisingly hard to use […]

Tilting Off In Every Direction

I mentioned a few days ago that I did not allow myself to use either the tilt or shift features of my new lens for the first 30-40 minutes of shooting.  Then I made myself use the important but less enticing shift feature, whose effects are necessary but often not discernable unless you point them […]

But That Don’t Worry Me None, In My Eyes You’re Everything

I considered calling this “Sunshine Is The Best Disinfectant” to capture the play between the sun hitting the corne of the building in the back and the Antiseptic Soap advertisement on the side of the brick building on the right, but instead I chose the song reference, which also calls to the morning sun on the aged buildings. This […]
